A round can be cancelled or deleted by a commish or admin. Cancel it when it was real but shouldn't count; delete it when it was a mistake.
When should I cancel a round?
Cancel a round that was scheduled or in progress and shouldn't count: a washout, a closed course. The round stays on the schedule marked Cancelled, with the reason you give shown on the round page. Nothing is erased.
A completed round can't be cancelled, and neither can any round of an event that is already completed or cancelled.
How do I cancel a round?
- Open the event, then the round.
- Open the round's settings and go to Other options.
- Choose Cancel round. The box tells you how many bets and how many dollars will be refunded.
- Add a reason if you like (for example "Course closed"). It is optional and is shown on the round page.
- Confirm.
Every bet on the round is voided and every stake is refunded. Each bettor gets a line in Messages saying so, and everyone who is in for the event gets a "Round N has been cancelled" message — whether or not pairings were out yet.
What happens to scores already entered?
They are kept. You can still see them on that round's leaderboard tab, under a banner saying the round doesn't count. They count toward nothing else: not the event leaderboard, not standings, not player stats, and not League Index. A cancelled round can't be scored, and it gets no recap.
Can I undo a cancellation?
No. If play is back on, add a new round to the event instead.
When should I delete a round instead?
Delete a round that was a mistake: the wrong date, a duplicate. Open Other options in the round's settings and choose Delete round.
If the round has nothing attached, you confirm and it is gone. If it has bets, scores or matches, the dialog lists exactly what will go: the bet markets and the dollars in them, matches, scores and how many players they belong to, League Index records, and coverage or photo posts. You must then type DELETE to continue. Under the box, a Cancel the round instead link is there if you would rather keep the record.
What happens to bets when I delete a round?
They are refunded first. Every stake is returned and each bettor is told in Messages, and then the round is removed. Deleting a round never makes a bet disappear silently.
A cancelled round can be deleted later to tidy up. Refunds are not sent a second time.
Why won't a market let me hide it?
A market that has live bets on it can't be hidden, because hiding doesn't refund anyone. To get rid of those bets, cancel the round, which voids every market and refunds every stake.
